Fysisk aktivitet som intervention
24. september 2004
Der er brug for standarder og nye metoder til at dokumentere effekten af motion på recept. Fysioterapeuter skal være med i dokumentationsarbejdet sammen med andre relevante fagrupper.

Background: Documentation and quality of care in the field of physiotherapy in the primary sector
have gained considerable attention in the last couple of years. Implemetation of the Common Danish Model for quality of health care includes the application of standards and indicators to provide a foundation for documentation and evaluation. Health promotion and preventative programs, in particular have in the past lacked methods for systematically following up and auditing projects. Clinical quality databases are seen as an important technological tool that can be implemented to ensure documentation through the use of quantifiable indicators. ‘Motion på recept’ is a new area of preventative medicine and health promotion that will require documentation if it is to gain ground as an effective intervention.
Objective: The objective of this study is to analyse a current health profile that is being used in the documenting of ‘motion på recept’ to see what type of information is being collected and whether or not this information could be used to create a clinical quality database.
Methods: The project is explorative in nature and uses qualitative methods to observe, analyse, describe and investigate the problem.
Results: It was found that the information being collected on the health profiles for ‘motion på recept’ patients is for the most part standardised and quantifiable. In addtion to this, it is continuous over a one year period and provides the opportunity for comparison from one health check to the next. With respect to creating a clinical quality database it was found that the health profile included information on the diagnosis and the CPR numbers, which are two key pieces of the information important for a clinical quality database. Organising the health profiles according to the diagnosis will have to occur to ensure disease specific databases. In addition to this clinical indicators, prognostic variables and quality standards relevant and specific to the disease must be identified to ensure evaluation of ‘motion på recept’ programs and thereby quality of care in this new area.
Perspectives: Physiotherapists need to continue to work on the standards and quantitfiable methods of documentation of ‘motion på recept’ projects, particularily in identifying and monitoring disease specific indicators. This needs to be done in collaboration with other health care professionals. Further investigation needs to be done into the advantages of an electronic health profile that could pool information from the mulit-disciplined health care team (ie doctor, nurse, physiotherapist, dietician) to the benefit of both the health care team and the patients.
Key words: ‘motion på recept’, quality documentation, clinical databases, indicators.
